My dad, who used to be an athlete in high school, thinks this cat’s “fall” is intentional. And I’m inclined to think he might be right - the elements of the “fall” flow perfectly into one another, and the cat rolls over at the exact moment she hits the ledge so that when she completes the roll she slides over the ledge and continues to “flow” like a living liquid. And my dad also says that the cat’s flip has elements similar to that of the Fosbury Flop, a technique used in high-jumping (article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fosbury_Flop) in that there is a similar quality of “flow” and the leverage the roll gives her allows her to reach the ledge, likely with less effort than if she jumped like a normal kitty.
